Specializing in Chemical-Resistant and Corrosion-Resistant Plastics
We specialize in the fabrication of chemical-resistant and corrosive-resistant plastics, such as polypropylene, PVC, and polyethylene. Choosing the right material for your corrosive application is a critical step. The primary thermoplastic materials we use are:
- PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride)
PVC is impervious to attack by strong acids, alkalis, salt solutions, alcohols, and many other chemicals, making it ideal for applications where these corrosives are involved. Although it has excellent flame resistance in addition to its overall mechanical strength, PVC is not recommended in situations where solvents are used, or where temperatures will routinely exceed 140° F.
- CPVC (Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride)
CPVC offers similar corrosion-resistance as PVC, but it can be used in high-temperature applications (up to 210° F). CPVC is also lightweight, cost-effective, and self-insulating (preferable for uses where thermal conductivity is a concern).
Polypropylene is ideal for solvent removal applications and can be used in temperatures up to 180° F. It is also lightweight, with outstanding abrasion resistance, thermal insulation, and dielectric properties.
In addition to our CNC routers and milling centers, Plastic Supply of PA, Inc. offers bending, welding, hot stamping and sawing, and screen-printing to fabricate and finish plastic components.
